Art first came to Alaska on vacation with his family in 1980. Like so many other people, the Swisher family fell in love with the rugged beauty and many opportunities that Alaska offers.

They decided to stay and Alaska has been Art's home ever since. At age 14, Art started commercial fishing all around the state and also working in the family construction business. After having his own successful contracting business, he transitioned into the real estate profession, first as a real estate agent and then moving on to become the broker and owner of Coastal Realty Homer.

Art's passion for hiking, hunting, fishing, and traveling around this great state translates into his determination to help clients find their own perfect piece of Alaska.

His background in construction and personal knowledge of Alaskan properties have been valuable in his success in the field of real estate.

Ken has called Alaska home since 1980. An avid outdoorsman, Ken enjoys hunting, fishing, boating, and just getting out into the beautiful scenery that surrounds him every day.

Ken previously owned and operated his own construction business for over 20 years. He has worked in all areas of building from start to finish, including new construction and remodeling of existing homes. Through this business, Ken became interested in the real estate profession and decided to joined his brother, Art, at Coastal Realty Homer.

Ken's many years of experience as a contractor give him valuable knowledge that he passes along to his clients when assisting them with their real estate needs.

Margarida came to Alaska in 1988, first living in the Aleutian Islands at Dutch Harbor, then moving to Homer, Alaska in 1994.

Alaska offered many opportunities and she had the chance to work as a florist, office manager of a large fishing company, dining room manager at a local restaurant, and as an escrow technician and title assistant at a title company. It was at the title company that she gained interest in and knowledge of the inner workings of the real estate profession.

Margarida is the Marketing and Development Assistant and Office Assistant at Coastal Realty Homer and one of her top priorities is to assure that there is clear communication between clients and agents. What she enjoys most about her job is the wonderful people that she meets and the satisfaction of being part of a team that works hard to make their client's real estate dreams come true.
